Feb 26-2019 Update regarding recent flooding
[Posted 2/26/2019]

This update is to give you the latest information we have regarding recovery from the recent flooding across Colbert County and North Alabama.

State Emergency Management Officials are in the area beginning the process of identifying affected properties of individuals, businesses and local infrastructure.  Each of the cities will be compiling information for all individuals and businesses impacted by the flooding within their corporate limits.  We are currently collecting names and contact information for many of you who have reached out to city personnel.  Our goal is to begin by the end of business Wednesday February 27th to compile the information that state and federal emergency management personnel will require to determine if our county is eligible for individual federal assistance.  For those of who have already given us your information, we will contact you for more specific details regarding your loss.  You will also be able to complete the short questionnaire online should you choose to do so.

For those of you who are able to begin cleanup and restoration of your property, the Alabama Department of Public Health has provided information to consider as you begin that process:

Precautions after flooding

Personal Cleanup

I encourage you to document damages you have incurred through photographs, repairs invoices, etc.  Public Works personnel will be collecting storm debris curbside every Friday. For more information on these collections, call 256/386-9250.

We will update this notice as we receive additional information.  Please contact Muscle Shoals City Hall at 256/386-9200 for further details.
