Street Department

STORM DRAINAGE PIPE 

The Street Department is responsible for maintenance and installation of storm drainage pipe.  Maintenance includes removal of obstructions in the pipe inhibiting the flow of water to preventy unnecessary flooding.  Installation of drainage pipe for residents in on an as needed or as requested basis.  All pipe is installed on City right of way or easement.  Anyone requesting pipe installation should contact the Public Works Department with information as to area of installation.  The street foreman will determine size, amount, and type of pipe needed. 

STORM DEBRIS

After hours contact the Police Department at (256) 383-6746 for any storm debris located on City right of way.  Any debris on private property will be handled as regular brush/trash collection.  (See Brush/Trash collection.)  Contact the Public Works Department for any questions.

ROAD BUILDING

The Street Department is also responsible for road building and resurfacing of City streets.  For any repairs needed or information concerning building or resurfacting contact the Public Works Department.  News

STREET SIGNS

Signs are installed or replaced by street department personnel per information received by the police department, citizens, or other sources.  All citizens are encouraged to inform the Public Works Department of any sign problems.
